Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Mangaka: AI Comic Studio ("Mangaka", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

• Account information. Email address and a hashed password when you sign up.
• Content you create. Story prompts, generated comic panels, speech bubbles you edit, and optional character reference images you choose to upload.
• Purchase information. Purchase tokens issued by Google Play Billing when you buy credits. We use these only to validate purchases with Google and to prevent duplicate crediting. We never receive or store your payment-card details.
• Device integrity signals. Anonymous tokens issued by Google Play Integrity to verify that requests come from a genuine installation of the app. These do not contain personal identifiers.
• Operational logs. Standard server logs (IP address, timestamps, request paths, error traces) kept for security, abuse prevention, and debugging.

How We Use Information

• To provide and operate the app — authentication, AI generation, and saving the comics you create
• To process and verify in-app purchases and credit your account
• To prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access
• To debug, monitor, and improve the service

Third-Party Services

Mangaka relies on the following third-party services to operate. Each handles certain data on our behalf under its own terms:

• Supabase hosts our user authentication, database, and image storage. Privacy policy.
• Google Cloud Platform runs our backend Cloud Functions. Privacy notice.
• Google Gemini API receives your story prompts and panel descriptions in order to generate the text and image content for your comic. Terms.
• Google Play Billing processes in-app purchases. Google Privacy Policy.
• Firebase App Check / Play Integrity issues anonymous integrity tokens used to block off-app abuse. Firebase privacy.

We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your account and the comics you create for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account at any time by emailing us at the address below; we remove your account record, comics, and uploaded character images within 30 days of a verified request.

Children

Mangaka is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in those age ranges. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your Rights

Subject to your local law (including GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA where applicable), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted transport (TLS), server-side access controls, and signed authentication tokens. No system is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and notify you of material breaches as required by law.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. The "Effective" date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email.
